Closet Works featured on HGTV's Rock the Block with Alison Victoria's master closet renovation

Closet Works Handiwork Featured on TV as Part of Interior Designer Alison Victoria's Master Suite Renovation.

Closet Works was honored recently when we were selected to create a custom closet that appeared on cable TV's Home and Garden network. Closet Works was asked by Chicago's own Alison Victoria to provide the closet for her master suite renovation project. The project was part of in a nationally broadcast design competition between four of the network's top interior designers. Although she didn't win, the master closet was warmly received by the judges, especially the 360 Organizer® Shoe Spinner, as an amenity that increases the home's value.

Property Values Increased Through Master Suite Redesign

When it comes time to sell, you always want your home to stand out from the competition. But how do you distinguish your house from others in the neighborhood that are the same model? Four top interior designers competed on national TV to create a master suite that would set their home apart while delivering maximum resale value. Each started with the same brand-new tract house, same floor plan, same initial finishes, and most importantly, the same budget. The homes were all located on the same block, neutralizing the location, location, location element of real estate value. It is fascinating to watch how they tackled the problem. Four designers yielded four unique solutions — each with its own advantages. The goal was to make changes that would yield the maximum increase in resale price at the end.

The line-up of stars was dizzying. In addition to the four designers, TV personality Drew Scott of Property Brothers and Tarek El Moussa of Flip or Flop were selected to deliver the final appraisal on the home's new value, and ultimately, the winner.

Closet Works was thrilled to be selected as part of "Team Alison," and worked on the master closet portion of the problem. The standard plain jane closet was removed and new built-ins were installed with ammentities like the 360 rotating shoe organizer, a closet hutch unit with drawers, and a built-in hamper.

Although the judges loved many features of Alison's elegant design, including her headboard wall, use of a marble tile wall in the bathroom, high end fixtures, and pronounced the new custom walk-in closet a home run, another entry was ultimately chosen as winner for Season 1 Episode 1 of this TV show. Even so, Alison's design is still our hands down favorite. Why not watch the episode for yourself and choose your own winner?
