I have used Closet Works since 2010. First in my River North condo, then my home in Irving Park and now my new home in the burbs. The designer that has helped me and continues to help me with my home projects is Sue Tinker. She is amazing and has a Lot of patience. Believe me, you need patience with me :) She is great to work with and despite how busy she is, she manages to always respond to my emails within 24 hrs, most of my emails within 12 hrs. Also, the installation work is pretty good. Closets are not only functional but look amazing. Closet Works helped me transform my bedroom closet (which is quite unique and has a wood beam running through part of it) into a masterpiece! Compared to other quotes I received, Closet Works was more affordable, attentive AND enabled me to get a dark finish for the same price as the white finish, which was not the case with competitors. My designer was amazing to work with and came up with a design that incorporated shoe racks, dress racks, double hang racks, sweater shelves and silent close drawers. I was able to fit more clothes and shoes into my closet than I had with the Closet Maid system that was installed when I purchased my condo. The two contractors for Closet Works arrived early and completed the job in a timely manner with the exception of a bedroom closet. I had contacted the consultant regarding a minor change, but the contractors didn't receive the revised sketches at the time of the original installation. I received a schedule date and the contractor's return as promise and finalize the job. The contractors were very professional, left all rooms clean and completed the project as scheduled. After our initial visit to the showroom in Lincoln Park, we were assigned a personal consltant who helped us with every decision along the way. She made multiple stops by our home while we were remodeling to make sure the design and plans were exactly right. She helped navigate the small details that are hard decisions for the inexperienced (hardware, drawer depths and heights, spacing, etc.). We were impressed with her knowledge and she was always reachable, which is a must! Two days later I was emailed a proposal with a design I liked but I still sought out other quotes. They came in the lowest. I wish I did this 5 years ago
My wife and I are expecting our first baby and realized that our condo lacked closet space. Luckily, the wire-rack closet shelf that was installed by the building developer when we first moved in collapsed on us for the fifth and final time causing us to look to the pros for help. I called Closet Works to help us with a plan. I called the receptionist and told her what we were looking to do and she had a designer out within a day or two to help us with a plan. He arrived on time, was extremely professional, and had great vision for how to design our closet. We were so impressed that we decided to move forward with two other closets. After understanding our needs and doing some measurements of my wife's long hanging dresses, a PDF was sent next day with the design that ouir designer worked up. We signed the contract the very next day and had the install team come out the following Friday to build out our closets. The installers were on time, professional, and finished the job in just a few hours. The closets look amazing and now we have more storage space than we know what to do with it. I worked with Katy Shannon to design a craft room. It is in the basement so there were problems that she had to design around (low ceiling, duct work, etc.). She did a wonderful job in designing around these problems. The results were great! Some of the best customer service I have ever received
I moved into my new condo back in March and the developer suggested using Closet Works for my closets. So glad I did! Everything, from the design consultation to the installation, was perfect. The design consultant wasn't pushy and didn't suggest any needless upgrades. She worked with my space and even came up with some nifty ways to get around some developer created issues (such as an awkwardly placed second dryer vent system). We have an 8 foot nook in our hall that we wanted to use as our office... and since it's so long, it requires a custom desk. I had Closet Works price it out and they came in at half the price of their competitors... so we had them do it. It looks amazing... even has a quartz countertop. And with all this, the highlight was the installation. My closets were scheduled to be installed on the Thursday back in March that Chicagoland received all that rain that caused several highways to close down. That didn't stop my installer from coming. He was supposed to arrive around 8am, but the rain made it nearly impossible to get into the city, but it didn't stop him. He arrived just before Noon, one man down, but went straight to work. He got about 80% down before I had to kick him out at 7pm as we were leaving town. He returned a couple days later to finish the project. I was VERY impressed with his work, professionalism and commitment to getting the project done. I definitely recommend Closet Works for any future projects. great ideas, very patient, and follow-through
We purchased a single family home in the Bucktown area in Chicago, right by the 606 trail. There was plenty of vacant space adjacent to the small walk-in closet the Closet Works happened to have previously done a nice job with the previous owners. I called them up, and the designer that had originally designed the closet was still available. Gerry Ayala stopped by a couple of times with recommendations on the space, as well as tips on what would and would not work. Gerry has great ideas, very patient, and follow-through. Last month we purchased a townhome in the western suburbs and the closets were our first upgrade to tackle. The existing ones were poorly configured with cheap wire. We chose Closet Works primarily because of Lynn one of their senior designer/consultants. Lynn had designed closets for us in our prior home and we trust her recommendations and outstanding customer service. For the townhome, Lynn's design recommendations and phased approach was spot on, as she had some challenging closets to work with. We decided to do our master closet, pantry, laundry and hallway. With a brand new home, our goal was to start out organized. Our designer at Closet Works quickly assessed our needs, providing practical solutions. She transformed the master bedroom closet into a multi-level hanging solution with drawers, eliminating the need for a separate dresser. She took her time, designed with my two boys needs in mind, and after a few drafts, we came to a final proposal. Closet Works did a long distance 19 closet custom closet job for us. How do you describe perfection? A 4 day installation job with 3 talented installers and zero/zero call-back items....on a total customer job!!! It was the perfect job from Design (Sue Tinker), installation/logistics (Andre & Tim) and project management (Tom & Frank). The job was a new custom home with a high end builder and a high end custom kitchen/bath cabinetry company......the builder and custom cabinetry company were blown away by the design/installation/perfection of the closets & garage from a 3rd party Closet Works they hadn't done business with to date....but they will in the future. 5 stars isn't high enough for this Closet Works successful design/install. - Jim N., Houzz Review
