Have you ever thought about cocooning inside your closet? You just might if you had an elaborate custom dressing room/closet with walk in closet lighting like this one! At approximately 403 square feet with 10 foot tall ceilings, this closet for HIM is bigger than some apartments. This quiet and relaxing space even includes a built-in desk area with cabinets — making the closet the perfect place to conduct business from home. A leather sofa and club style chair in front of a big screen TV are planned for this space. Artwork from a favorite local photographer will personalize the retreat, completing the relaxing feeling of closet as personal sanctuary.
This closet is painted a dark, masculine, charcoal gray on all the walls in addition to the ceiling. The closet organization system is designed in Merapi, a taupe and gray wood tone laminate which compliments the paint color. With this color scheme, it was important to install several closet lighting options in order to have enough illumination to be able to easily see clothing and accessory selections. Walk-in closet lighting includes horizontal LED strips under the shelves in the hanging section of the closet. Clothing is nicely illuminated and you don't even need to turn on the ceiling lights to see it. The LED closet lights are controlled by a remote control dimmer/switch stored in the center closet island. The island includes 24 drawers, several featuring closet organizer drawer dividers, making it easier to keep clothing and accessories neatly stored away. The 3-tier jewelry organizer proved particularly convenient for storing cufflinks, tie tacks, rings, watches, key chains and various other small memorabilia. A tall section of shelves next to the door handles shoe organization for an extensive footwear collection.
The desk area in the far corner of the closet was outfitted with three upper cabinets for storage. An LED puck light was mounted under each of these cabinets to provide good task lighting when working from home. A shelf in the matching Merapi laminate was installed to hold the countertop that functions as a desk in this office/closet/dressing room/den.
