Closets have become so much more than storage for most people. And there's good reason for it. It's the first place you head off to in the morning and the last place you visit at night. As such, it makes sense to create an inviting and personal environment you'll enjoy spending time in. Why not surround yourself with favorite colors and personal mementoes? One couple took this advice to heart when they remodeled their walk-in closet into a luxury space.
A beautiful blue-gray laminate with matte gold accents was chosen for this closet. The design is dominated by a large peninsula surrounded by illuminated shoe storage. Shoe and handbag shelves are enclosed by glass door cabinets. All the shoe shelves are slanted to increase visibility of footwear stored above eye-level. The opposite wall handles the bulk of the hanging needs. A wall of double-hang closet organizers is interspersed with a built-in vanity that includes a mirror and integrated lighting. A mirrored cabinet divides the storage into his and hers sections. The cabinet makes a perfect baby closet for the time being but can easily be converted to other needs later. Another glass-fronted shoe cabinet and a combination drawers/shelving cabinet with two double-hang closet organizers provide storage for his clothes and complete this wall. A large built-in storage bench sits under the big window to hold specialty sports gear. It also functions as a window seat. A built-in dresser and long-hang garment storage with a hidden safe complete the closet. Warm LED closet lighting illuminates all the components.
